System preparation prior installing 800xA system.

• Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021.iso
• VMware w/ VMware Tools or Hyper-v

3. Method

Procedure adapted from official ABB documentation and video training.

1. Mount the iso in virtual machine and install
2. Setup account
   1. U: Admin, P:admin123#
3. Computer Management Setting
   1. at Users adjust or add the following:
      1. Both Admin and Administrator, checked Password never expires
      2. Both 800xAInstaller and 800xAService, checked Password never expires, User cannot change password and set both password: ABB123#
   2. at Group adjust or add the following:
      1. Created both IndustrialITAdmin and IndustrialITUser and add Users above inside these Group and Administrator group.
4. Control Panel Setting
   1. Clock and Region
      1. Set formate to English (US)
   2. Internet Option
      1. In Privacy tab,
         1. Unchecked Pop-up blocker
      2. In Advanced,
         1. Unchecked Check for publisher's certificate revocation
   3. Network and Sharing
      1. Advanced Sharing
         1. Turn on all network discovery on all profile
      2. Adapter Setting
         1. Unchecked IPV6
         2. Inside IPV4, adjust the following:
            1. IP: 172.16.4.1
            2. Subnet: 255.255.252.0
            3. Checked Use the following DNS server
            4. In Advanced
               1. On DNStab, unchecked Register this connection's addresses in DNS
               2. on WINS tab, checked disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP
   4. Device Manager
      1. In Hardisk properties,
         1. Checked Enable write cache
   5. Power Option
      1. Select Ultimate power plan
         1. Set display time out to never
   6. System
      1. In Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows,
         1. Unchecked Shows windows content while dragging
   7. Windows Update
      1. In Settings, check Never check for updates
5. Disable ISATAP setting
   1. Open CMD (Admin), copy the following command
      1. netsh interface isatap show state
      2. netsh interface isatap set state disabled
      3. Rerun show state command again and make sure ISATAP state is disabled
6. Group Policy Management

User config > Policies > Admin Template > Windows Components > Internet Explorer > Internet Control Panel > Security Page

1. Intranet sites: include all local (intranet) sites...
